, Barb, Laurie, Amanda

Patrice Bobier, CM, CPM

I am an apprentice-trained midwife in private practice since 1982, and have personally attended over 1200 home births.  I have  been certified (CM) by the Michigan Midwives Association since 1983.  In 1997, I became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), credentialed through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).  I am a board member of the Michigan Midwives Association and am a member of the Midwives Alliance of North America. I am married and have 2 grown children and 3 home-born grandchildren.  My husband and I have a 200 acre farm and raise organic meats and vegetables.

Barb Olsen

Hi, I'm Barb Olsen.  I am an apprentice-trained midwife. I began training with Patrice in 1995 and have stayed on to work with her in the Full Circle practice.

I became familiar with midwives and home birth while living in Seattle where my last child was born at home.  The amazing difference between my three hospital births and one home birth sparked my interest in becoming a midwife.  I want families to know they DO have options where their children are born!

I worked for many years with battered women and their families and have a deep understanding of emotional issues that may affect pregnant women and their labor and deliveries.  I now have a private counseling practice in Muskegon where I continue to encourage others to see the strength in themselves.

Laurie Zoyiopoulos, CM

I first came to homebirth and midwifery care as a client.  Patrice was our midwife for 2 of our 3 children and after the homebirth of our 3rd child (1987) I became interested in becoming a midwife, someday.  This being such a daunting accomplishment and my children being so young, I quickly accepted Patrice's invitation to train to do some postpartum care for her clients who lived up my way.  3 years and about 25 postpartum visits later, I began an apprenticeship with Patrice (1990) and became a certified midwife (through the Michigan Midwives Association) in 1996.  I have my own practice in central Michigan, but still enjoy attending some births with Patrice and Barb -- clients appreciate having the same midwife team that they had with previous births and so most of my births with Full Circle are "repeat clients".  My husband and I have 3 children, a son-in-law and a granddaughter, Patience Mae, born at home in August of 2004.

Amanda Jones
I have been interested in wholistic health for a long time, and see midwifery care as an extension of this. I believe it is very important that women have a safe and family centered birth experience. To help support this, I trained as a doula in 2003 at The Center for the Childbearing Year in Ann Arbor. I volunteered as a doula and later provided private doula services to empower women to make their own informed decision and have a positive birth experience. After moving to the west side of the state, I joined Full Circle in December 2005 as an apprentice. My goal is to become a CPM and continue to offer women wholistic care in pregnancy and birth.

My son was born at home in 2006, and my personal experience only increased my want to support the option of a safe, family centered, home birth experience.

I am also a massage therapist and wildcrafting herbalist.

I live in Croton on a small farm with my husband Mike and our son Zen.
