Laurie, for those of you who haven’t met her.

MIDWIFERY IS ~~Written by Laurie:  It’s jolting out of a peaceful sleep to answer a loud ringtone. It’s throwing off warm bed covers and toes landing on the cold floor. It’s hot coffee and cool air and a starlit sky that would have gone unnoticed. It’s hurrying along, to then calmly entering. It’s a cool cloth and a hot compress. It’s a tear down a cheek and a smile of sweet reality. It’s a cold sip from a bendy straw and warm oil timely applied. It’s feeling so weak yet finding great strength. It’s gentle care and a loud and reassuring cry. It’s the hardest work and the greatest joy.
